Its been a busy couple of months for the bus tops team, culminating in the assembly of our first prototype at Trueform Engineering. Trueform are responsible for the fabrication and installation of bus shelters across the city, they have an awesome manufacturing facility, and an incredibly helpful team who have engaged us throughout this very important stage of the project. Special thanks to Keith, Pip and Rodney who provided tools, advice and general support throughout the process!

The assembly of the aluminium substructure and electronics came together well and it was the first time we combined our very digital interface with the very natural appearance of the London Plane timber enclosure. We got some differing reactions when the enclosure was initially unveiled, but once assembled and connected, the general feeling was of two very different aesthetics which complimented each other very well! The full assembly will be installed in a test location in East London sometime soon; so follow the warm red glow!

Nice one guys. Looking forward to seeing how this one shapes up. How will you be sending the frames to it? Any cool hacks for controlling the LED pixels? Is it too late to incorporate two-way LEDs? http://enigmaker.org/post_project4_reveal.html
